An estimated bill will be issued when the meter reader assigned to do the reading cannot enter customer's premise to read the meter. SESB allows only 3 consecutive months of estimate, after which a notice will be issued to the customer for actual reading to be submitted. Customers may also arrange with SESB for a meter reader to do this special reading.

Upon getting the actual meter reading, SESB would issue a bill with the previous estimated charges reversed, and an actual amount calculated and billed for the total duration during which the estimation was done.
