Dear esteemed customers, SESB recognizes the difficulties often experienced by our customers due to frequent power breakdowns. We would like to assure you that we view the matter seriously and that strategic initiatives are being implemented towards improving the current situations. In implementing these improvement initiatives, we seek your fullest cooperation particularly in the following areas: a) Illegal connection and vandalism Illegal connection and vandalism to our installation are hampering our efforts to providing a good service to our customers. Tampering and stealing electrical equipments in SESB installations affect the stability of the power system and could cause serious disruption to electricity supply and services. These irresponsible acts cause loss of revenue to SESB, but of more concern to us is the inconvenience, disruption to business activities and loss suffered by the community. Act of vandalism such as stealing of electrical cables could distort the supply voltage delivered to your premises, which could result in damage to your electrical appliances such as refrigerators, TV sets, air-conditions etc. Electricity supply to your premises will have to be disconnected to facilitate repair work. While SESB will do everything possible to minimize the impact and damage as well as restore supply quickly, we seek your fullest cooperation to help us fight and stop the stealing! Don't let the immoral actions of a group of irresponsible people deprive you the right to enjoy good services that we want to provide you. Do inform us if you come across any sign of illegal power tapping at our power lines or suspicious characters lurking around any of our power installations. Your information can be channeled to us through the following media:
b) Prompt payment of electricity bill In order to improve the electricity supply quality and reliability, various system improvement projects are being planned and implemented. Old lines, cables and equipments are being replaced and upgraded, and new network being constructed and commissioned. An estimated RM 2 billion will be required for the period of 2007-2010. This amount is huge and sufficient fund need to be raised to finance these projects. Revenue collected from payment of electricity bills is used as one of our main sources of fund to finance these capital-intensive projects. Smooth implementation of these system improvement projects, depends heavily on our ability to collect our revenue promptly. We, therefore seek your fullest cooperation to pay your electricity bills promptly, so that revenue collected can be reinvested to improve supply system in your areas. Help us so that we can provide good service that you deserve.
