Tariff Definitions
Tariff DM: Domestic
"Domestic Consumer" means a customer occupying a private dwelling house which is not used as a hotel, boarding house or used for the purpose of carrying out any business, profession or trade.
Tariff CM1: Commercial Class 1
"Commercial Consumer" includes a customer occupying an office block, shop, godown, cinema, market, restaurant, school, hotel**, boarding house, estate, port, railway, Police, Government Department and Forces installations, hospital, hall, clinic, muzium, library, community/sport centre, charitable organisation, club, association and religious institute.
** Hotel, though classified under Commercial Tariff are to be charged under Industrial Tariff.
Tariff CM2: Commercial Class 2
Same as for Tariff CM1 but for connected load of 500 kW and above.
Tariff ID1: Industrial Class 1
"Industrial Consumer" includes a customer who is in the manufacturing, quarrying business and a customer (Normally Government) who utilizes energy for the purpose of pumping water.
Tariff ID2: Industrial Class 2
Same as for Tariff ID1 but for connected load of 500 kW and above.
Tariff PL : Public Lighting
"Public Lighting" consumer means a consumer consuming energy in respect of street lighting, traffic lights, railway crossing, public grounds, traffic signals and in respect of other general and public lighting purpose.
